Newly regenerated and still finding his footing, this Doctor trades the old bohemian swagger for something gentler: a fresh-faced young man in cricket whites, a stick of celery pinned to his lapel, surrounded by more companions than he can quite manage. He's earnest, easily rattled, and often uncertain whether he's making the right call — but he tries anyway.

Davison plays vulnerability as a genuine dramatic risk rather than a gimmick, giving the Doctor moments of real failure and doubt that earlier incarnations rarely allowed. The boyish charm masks a stubborn moral seriousness, and watching him struggle to keep his companions safe — not always successfully — makes his victories feel hard-won rather than assured.
