The Eleventh Doctor

He tumbles out of a crashed TARDIS as a raw, newly-regenerated Doctor, all elbows and appetite, demanding fish fingers and custard while a small girl watches. Older than he looks and stranger than he acts, he wears youth like a borrowed coat over something ancient, curious about everything and instantly protective of the child he's just met.

Matt Smith plays ancient and childlike simultaneously, snapping between manic wonder and sudden, unsettling stillness without ever telegraphing the shift. The writing leans into that fairy-tale strangeness — bow ties, riddles, a face that keeps forgetting it isn't young — and Smith makes the oddness feel lived-in rather than performed, which is why he's so watchable.
