The Clear Cutter

The Clear Cutter appears in Futurama as a figure whose very name announces his business: cutting down whatever stands in his way, trees included. He is brash, single-minded, and entirely unbothered by the consequences of his work, treating destruction as just another job to get done.

John DiMaggio, already Futurama's Bender, brings his gift for blustery, self-satisfied menace to a character defined entirely by his function. The joke is in the flatness of the concept — a man who is simply his job title — and DiMaggio plays it with total conviction, never winking at how absurd that is.
