The Borax Kid

The Borax Kid is a grizzled robot ranch hand out on the frontier world where Amy's family runs their buggalo spread, all drawl and dust and old-timer squint. He's the sort who's seen every kind of trouble the range can throw at a man, and he doesn't much feel like explaining himself twice.

He's a one-joke premise — a robot doing a full Yosemite Sam cowboy bit — but Maurice LaMarche commits so completely to the leathery drawl and weary cadence that the joke never feels thin. It's a small role that turns into a perfect miniature of Futurama's gift for treating absurd mashups with total sincerity.
