Texan Scientist #2

A background scientist in a Futurama episode, one of a pair of drawling Texan boffins who show up to explain some outlandish piece of technology or impending catastrophe in thick, exaggerated cowboy cadences. He exists mostly to deliver exposition with a grin and a twang, treating apocalyptic stakes like local weather.

The joke is entirely in the voice: Maurice LaMarche leans into the drawl so hard that dry scientific jargon comes out sounding like a campfire yarn. Futurama's gift for throwaway character actors pays off here — a nothing role becomes memorable simply because the vocal performance commits so fully to its own absurd twang.
