He turns up as part of a chattering pair of scientists, drawling and unbothered, the kind of background figure Futurama loves to toss into a scene for a single joke. He speaks with the easy confidence of someone certain he's right, whatever the actual science says, and then he's gone.

The joke is entirely in the voice: Phil LaMarr commits to a broad Texan cadence that turns a nothing role into a tiny comic bit, tossed off and forgotten by the plot but not by the ear. Futurama's gift for one-scene characters who feel fully formed anyway is exactly this kind of throwaway pleasure.
