Teenage Randall Pearson

The only Black kid in his family and often in his school, Randall is a driven, anxious overachiever chasing straight A's and his adoptive father Jack's approval. He's watchful, a little too controlled for his age, and quietly wrestling with the question of where he actually belongs — in his family, and in his own skin.

Niles Fitch carries a lot of the show's most delicate material — race, adoption, the ache of never quite fitting — without ever tipping into a lesson. He plays Randall's perfectionism as armor rather than virtue, so you feel the cost of it, and the show trusts him with real interiority instead of just symbolic weight.
