Teen Robot

Teen Robot is exactly what the name promises: a robotic adolescent slouching through Futurama's crowd scenes with all the sullen indifference of a human teenager, minus the biology. Introduced without fanfare, he mopes, mutters, and radiates contempt for whatever adults or authority figures are nearby, a walking eye-roll built out of chrome.

The joke is entirely in the transposition — take the most recognizable teenage attitude and bolt it onto a robot, then let Tress MacNeille's flat, bored delivery sell the deadpan absurdity. He never needs a plot to work; a single line of adolescent disdain from a machine is funny on its own terms, which is the whole Futurama trick in miniature.
