Teen Misty

Misty is the soccer team's equipment manager, the girl carrying a wilderness-safety manual and a desperate need to be needed. She hovers at the edges of the group, chirpy and eager, offering help nobody asked for. There's something a little too intense in how badly she wants to matter to these girls who barely notice her.

Sammi Hanratty plays her with a bright, unblinking cheerfulness that never quite sits right — you laugh, then feel bad for laughing, then wonder if you should feel worse. The writing lets her competence and her neediness curdle together, so every helpful gesture carries a faint hum of menace underneath.
