Talia Thinsen's Head

Talia Thinsen exists as one of Futurama's countless preserved heads-in-jars, a fixture of the 31st-century background where the famous and the forgotten alike float on in glass. She appears briefly, delivering a line or two with the deadpan confidence of someone who has outlived her body and doesn't much mind.

The joke of the head-in-a-jar was always in the incongruity, and Tress MacNeille — one of the show's great utility voices — finds the exact tone: brisk, unbothered, faintly bored by immortality. It's a blink-and-miss-it part, but it lands because the delivery treats absurdity as the most normal thing in the world.
