Aone is a towering middle blocker for Date Tech, the team that prides itself on shutting down big-name spikers with sheer defensive discipline. He barely speaks, communicating mostly through nods and a fixed, unreadable stare that opponents find unnerving. Behind the silence is a quiet intensity focused entirely on the wall he and his teammates build at the net.

The joke of Aone is that everyone reads his blank face as menace, when his teammates know it just means he's thinking, or pleased, or embarrassed. Matsukawa's flat, minimal delivery sells that gap perfectly, and the show mines it for warmth rather than comedy at his expense, making a scary-looking giant one of the gentlest presences on court.
