Takamura Mamoru

Takamura is the loudest presence at the Kamogawa gym, a cocky, girl-chasing senior boxer who treats training like a game he's already won. He talks endless trash, needles the shy new kid Ippo without mercy, and swaggers through life like the world owes him applause — yet the moment gloves go on, the clowning stops and something formidable takes over.

The gag is the reveal: every bit of bluster turns out to be earned, because Takamura is genuinely, almost absurdly gifted, and the show keeps letting his comic arrogance collide with real technical brilliance. Rikiya Koyama plays him at full volume, turning boasts into music, which makes the character's rare flashes of sincerity toward Ippo land far harder than they should.
