Taffiny drifts into Coach Steve's orbit as his eccentric, dreamy girlfriend, full of new-age affect, breathy pronouncements, and a total lack of self-consciousness. She talks about auras and energy as if they're obvious facts, and treats every interaction, however odd, with the same serene, unbothered warmth.

Jenny Slate plays her with a spacey sincerity that never winks at the audience, which is what makes the absurdity land — Taffiny genuinely believes her own logic, and the show trusts that commitment instead of undercutting it. She's a small dose of pure, gentle strangeness in a show otherwise obsessed with anxiety and shame.
