Syril Karn

Syril Karn is a deputy for a corporate security outfit on a backwater world, a man who believes in procedure the way others believe in gods. Fastidious, thin-skinned, and desperate to matter, he polices the smallest infractions with total conviction, chafing against superiors he considers lazy and unworthy of the order he serves.

Kyle Soller plays him without a shred of irony, which is the joke and the horror of it: Syril's crisp collars and clipped diction mask a hunger for significance so total it curdles into obsession. Andor uses him to show how the machinery of empire recruits its truest believers from its most overlooked men.
