Sydney "Syd" Barrett

Sydney Barrett shows up at Clockworks Psychiatric Hospital as the one person David Haller actually wants to talk to, sharp-tongued and guarded, keeping everyone at arm's length. She hates being touched, deflects questions with jokes, and clearly knows more about her own strangeness than she's letting on.

Rachel Keller plays Syd as brittle and quick rather than sad, so her defensiveness feels like personality instead of trauma-signaling. The show hands her a power built entirely around intimacy being dangerous, and Keller finds the ache and the dark comedy in that without ever softening her into a simple love interest.
