Sutton Brady works the fashion closet at Scarlet magazine, cataloguing designer samples while she angles for a real job on the fashion team. She's practical, funny, and hungry in a way she doesn't apologize for, using charm and hustle in equal measure to get herself noticed by the people who could actually promote her.

The show could easily have made Sutton the shallow one next to her more 'serious' friends, but the writing takes her career ambition as seriously as anyone else's. Meghann Fahy plays her with a quick, unfussy warmth, turning what could be comic relief into someone whose drive feels completely earned.
