Susie Greene

Susie is Jeff's wife and Larry's frequent target and tormentor, a woman with no patience for nonsense and even less for Larry David specifically. She runs her household, keeps Jeff in line, and treats every social gathering as another opportunity to catch someone behaving badly — usually him.

Susie Essman turns profanity into precision instrument work — her tirades against Larry are so specific and relentlessly escalating that they become a kind of aria. What sells it is the total lack of vanity in the performance; she's never trying to be liked, only to be right, which is funnier and truer than either.
