Suicidal Man

A background robot glimpsed around New New York, Suicidal Man exists mainly at the mouth of the suicide booths that dot Futurama's future, forever trying to end it and forever failing thanks to malfunctioning machinery or rotten timing. He never speaks much beyond weary despair, a running sight gag rather than a plotted character.

He's a one-note joke, but John DiMaggio's flat, exhausted delivery gives that note real comic texture — the gag isn't the attempt, it's his utter lack of surprise when it goes wrong again. It's Futurama's dark, deadpan sense of humor distilled into a single recurring background bit.
