Stiletta

Stiletta is one of the strange figures the young dungeoneer meets while picking a path through Knightmare's shifting rooms and corridors, on the lookout for peril hidden behind a friendly face. She speaks in riddles and threats as much as help, and the audience at home must decide with the adventurer whether to trust her.

Knightmare thrived on exactly this uncertainty, and Joanne Heywood plays Stiletta with a poise that keeps children guessing right up to the moment of choice. The costume and low-budget effects ask a lot of the performance, and she supplies enough edge and enough charm that the character never tips its hand too soon.
