He exists mainly on the other end of Steve's phone, the voice of the industry Steve is trying to impress from a restaurant in the Lake District. Brisk, professional, and slightly removed from whatever anxious performance Steve is putting on, he represents the career Steve worries he's failing to have.

Justin Edwards plays him as a small, dry counterweight to Coogan's spiralling self-regard — a reminder that outside the double act's bickering and impressions, there's an actual business ticking along indifferently. He doesn't need much screen time; the joke is how much weight Steve puts on so brief a call.
