Stephen Bonnet

Stephen Bonnet arrives in chains, an Irish smuggler condemned to hang, and talks his way into Jamie Fraser's orbit with nothing but charm and nerve. He wants freedom, money, and whatever else he can take, and he is entirely comfortable asking for help while offering none of the usual guarantees in return.

Ed Speleers plays him with a lightness that never quite settles into safety — that easy grin is the whole threat, because you can't tell where charm ends and calculation begins. The writing gives him just enough wit and vulnerability to be likeable before it lets you see what he actually is.
