Squidward Scissorhands

Squidward Scissorhands turns up in Futurama as a lawyer of the same tentacled species as Zoidberg, his name a groan-worthy pun on Edward Scissorhands complete with blade-fingered hands. He appears exactly as courtroom business requires, all clipped procedure and squidly formality, treating absurd legal disputes with total professional seriousness.

He works because the joke is the entire point and the show commits to it without blinking. Maurice LaMarche gives him a dry, lawyerly cadence that plays perfectly straight against the sheer silliness of scissor-hands and cephalopod anatomy, which is exactly the deadpan-versus-absurd rhythm Futurama's best throwaway characters run on.
