Spongy

Spongy turns up as one of the many faces populating Arlen, Texas — a minor fixture in the town's sprawling cast of neighbors, drinking buddies, and local characters who orbit Hank Hill's world. He's sketched quickly, defined by a nickname and a presence rather than a backstory, the kind of guy who exists at the edges of a barbecue or a beer run.

King of the Hill built its texture out of exactly these throwaway names and faces, and Toby Huss — already doing heavy lifting elsewhere in the cast — brings the same commitment to voice work that makes even a glancing character sound like he's lived in Arlen his whole life. It's a small brick in a very well-built wall.
