Spencer Monroe

Spencer Monroe is one of the founding residents of the Alexandria Safe-Zone, son of the community's leader, and a man who has never quite adjusted to the world outside its walls. Restless and self-assured, he chafes at his sheltered life, drinks to cope, and quietly believes he deserves more say in how things are run.

Austin Nichols plays Spencer with a smirking, wounded entitlement that makes him fascinating precisely because he is unlikeable in such a recognizable way — a man who mistakes privilege for competence. The show uses him to needle at Alexandria's soft underbelly, letting his resentment expose the gap between comfort and survival.
