Space Pirate

A blustering rogue of the spaceways, this pirate swaggers into Futurama's universe as pure genre parody — eyepatch bravado, plundering intent, and a taste for menace played broadly for laughs. He wants loot, or leverage, or simply to look fearsome doing it, and he says so loudly.

Maurice LaMarche brings his gift for big, theatrical voices to a role built entirely on swagger, and the joke is in the commitment: a cartoon pirate cliché delivered completely straight amid the show's future-set absurdity. It's a small part, but LaMarche's boom and relish make it land.
