Space Italian Cop

He's one of New New York's finest, a robot or human beat cop whose thick Italian-American accent and blustery cadence peg him instantly as a stock tough-guy officer. He turns up on the fringes of Fry, Leela, and Bender's misadventures, barking orders, hassling suspects, and generally embodying the city's rougher edges with theatrical bravado.

The joke is baked into the casting: John DiMaggio, already Bender's growl, slips into a different register entirely, all rolled R's and borough swagger, proving how much comic mileage he can wring from a bit part. He never needs more than a scene to land a laugh purely through vocal commitment.
