Sophie Alekan

Sophie Alekan is a guest at the Cairo hotel where Jonathan Pine works nights, elegant and watchful, tied to a dangerous, well-connected man. She approaches Pine with documents too explosive to sit on, asking him to help her get them into the right hands. Composed on the surface, she is clearly moving fast against a private fear.

She only has a handful of scenes, but they set the whole story turning: her request is the spark that pulls Pine out of hotel routine and into something much larger. Aure Atika plays her with a controlled, unshowy urgency, so that her intelligence and her danger both register before either is explained.
