Sloane is a member of the Sparrow Academy, the alternate-timeline family of gifted siblings the Hargreeves brood stumbles into. Gentle and unassuming next to her more combative brothers and sisters, she quietly longs to walk away from the whole superhero business and become a professional dancer instead.

Genesis Rodriguez plays her as the softest edge in a household built on ego and competition, which makes her instantly sympathetic without a line of exposition. The show uses her calm, her strange affinity for swarming insects, and her plain wish for an ordinary life to needle at what these 'academy' families cost the kids raised inside them.
