Skeleton Pirate

A skeleton pirate turns up as one of Futurama's many one-scene oddities, a rattling relic in a tricorn hat who talks in full pirate bluster despite having no lungs left to growl with. He guards, threatens, or narrates with total conviction, treating his own decomposed state as barely worth mentioning.

The joke is entirely in the mismatch: a corpse delivering swashbuckling dialogue as if nothing were wrong. Maurice LaMarche, a voice actor built for grandiose delivery, plays the bones completely straight, which is funnier than any wink would be. It's a two-line gag elevated by pure vocal commitment.
