Shōyō Hinata

Short, scrappy, and relentlessly determined, Shōyō Hinata is a middle schooler who fell in love with volleyball after watching a tiny player called the Little Giant dominate on TV. He arrives at Karasuno High with almost no technique but explosive jumping power, desperate to prove that height doesn't decide everything.

Hinata could easily be a one-note underdog, but the show grounds his enthusiasm in real struggle: footwork drilled from scratch, rules learned the hard way, humility earned through losses. Ayumu Murase gives him a voice that cracks with genuine want, turning raw hustle into something you can't help rooting for.
