Shirou Iori

Shirou Iori is the resourceful tailor and engineer aligned with Nudist Beach, the underground resistance fighting Honnouji Academy's uniform-based tyranny. Eccentric and endlessly inventive, he throws himself into crafting weapons and garments with theatrical enthusiasm, treating his workshop like a stage and his creations like masterpieces. He wants his work to matter, and he wants everyone to notice how good it is.

Kill la Kill thrives on characters who are utterly sincere about absurd things, and Iori's operatic devotion to tailoring is a perfect distillation of that comic register. Yuji Ueda plays him with theatrical flourish, all dramatic gestures and proud declarations over a sewing machine, turning craftsmanship into spectacle. He's a small, delightful reminder that this show's heroes come in every shape, including the fabulously eccentric.
