Shiggy

Shiggy is one of the young hopefuls tied to the orphanage at the edge of the Abyss, part of the world of aspiring Cave Raiders that surrounds Riko. Introduced as a peer within that community, she carries herself with the eagerness and rivalry common to children dreaming of descending into the pit.

Manami Numakura brings a light, believable youthfulness to the role, the kind of voice work that makes a background figure feel like a real kid rather than scenery. In a show built on the tension between childlike wonder and genuine horror, even smaller characters like Shiggy help sell the ordinary, hopeful world the Abyss threatens to swallow.
