Major Major Major Major is a name and a rank collided into one bureaucratic joke — a shy, awkward officer promoted to squadron commander by pure administrative accident. He wants nothing to do with authority or attention, ducking out windows to avoid the men who come to see him, utterly unequipped for the role he's been handed.

He's Catch-22's purest embodiment of absurd logic made flesh: a man punished by promotion, cursed by his own name before he could speak. Lewis Pullman plays him with such wounded, twitchy sincerity that the joke never curdles into cruelty — you laugh, then ache for him.
