Señor Ben Chang

Chang teaches Spanish at Greendale Community College, though his grasp of the language is shaky at best. He rules his classroom like a tiny dictatorship, obsessed with respect he hasn't earned, quick to humiliate students over trivial infractions, and weirdly proud of a job that clearly bores him senseless.

Ken Jeong plays Chang at a pitch of unhinged, operatic pettiness that turns a minor authority figure into pure comic menace. The writing keeps escalating his insecurities and delusions of grandeur, and Jeong commits so fully to the character's wounded ego that every overreaction feels inevitable, absurd, and somehow true to life.
