Selene appears to Rand al'Thor as a striking, self-possessed stranger with an old book and an even older interest in the Age of Legends. She is elegant, unhurried, and oddly flattering toward him, offering knowledge and attention that feel a little too perfectly timed. Where she comes from, she never quite says.

Natasha O'Keeffe plays her with a stillness that reads as confidence rather than warmth, so every kind word she gives Rand lands with a faint undertow of calculation. The writing withholds her motives entirely, letting curiosity do the work suspicion usually does — you lean toward her exactly as Rand does, and wonder why.
