Security Guard

A stock figure of Futurama's future New New York, this Security Guard shows up wherever there is a building, a lab, or a delivery to obstruct — gruff, unbothered, and utterly unimpressed by whatever cosmic emergency the Planet Express crew claims to be having. He does his job, checks his clipboard, and rarely budges.

The joke is in the casting: John DiMaggio, already Bender's voice, slips into this gravelly nobody and makes him a droll little obstacle course of bureaucracy. He never needs a backstory to land a laugh — just perfect deadpan timing against whatever nonsense the heroes are trying to talk their way past.
