Scott Smith

Scott Smith is a bright, unassuming grad-student scientist working alongside Cosima inside the Dyad Institute's genetics lab. He's earnest, a little geeky, more comfortable with data and side projects than office politics, and quietly loyal to the people he works with even as the science around him gets stranger than anything in his textbooks.

Josh Vokey plays him as gentle ballast in a show full of high-wire tension and doubles — a normal, decent guy dropped into a conspiracy far above his pay grade. He works because he's an audience surrogate with actual expertise, reacting to the show's escalating weirdness with the bemused, curious honesty of someone who just wanted to do good science.
