Saw Gerrera is a rebel fighter who trusts no one and answers to nothing but his own war. Living half-underground with his ragged band, he trades in stolen kyber and Imperial salvage, sizing up every visitor—including Cassian—as a potential asset or threat. Paranoid, righteous, and utterly convinced of his own cause.

Whitaker plays him twitchy and half-feral, a man so consumed by decades of fighting that ordinary conversation seems to cost him effort. Andor doesn't soften him into a folk hero; it lets him be genuinely unsettling, a preview of what resistance curdles into when it has no end in sight. He's magnetic precisely because you're never sure he's sane.
