Satellite Dish

A minor voice in Futurama's crowded universe, this character appears fleetingly and mostly exists to deliver a joke or a piece of background business rather than to carry any plot. Little is asked of them beyond a quick line, and the show doesn't linger long enough to tell us much more.

Futurama's gift for treating even the smallest, strangest bit parts as fully voiced citizens of its world is on display here, and Tress MacNeille's ability to snap into a distinct, funny register for a character with almost no screen time is exactly the kind of unglamorous craft that keeps the show's background dense and rewatchable.
