Sarah is Erin's aunt, living under the same roof as the Quinn family and treating every minor inconvenience as a personal tragedy. Vain, dramatic, and endlessly self-absorbed, she's more interested in her own love life and appearance than in anyone else's problems, though she'll weigh in on them anyway, loudly and unhelpfully.

Kathy Kiera Clarke plays Sarah's narcissism with such total commitment that she becomes the funniest kind of background noise — a woman who can turn a family crisis into a monologue about herself without any sense of irony. The writing never punishes her for it; it just lets her be gloriously, obliviously extra.
