In the 31st century, the heads of notable 20th- and 21st-century figures survive in jars, preserved for museum display, ceremonial appearances, and the occasional bit of civic business. Sandra Day O'Connor's head is one of these relics: dignified, a little bewildered by her new context, and rolled out whenever the show needs a Supreme Court joke.

The joke is the concept itself — a jarred head trading on the gravity of a real office long after the body's gone — and Tress MacNeille plays it perfectly straight, giving O'Connor the same measured, judicial calm she'd have had in an actual courtroom. That deadpan commitment, stacked against the absurdity of the premise, is the whole gag, and it never stops being funny.
