Salvador Osuna Nava moves through the world of Narcos: Mexico as a man caught in the machinery of corruption and power that the show maps out in unsparing detail — watchful, careful with what he says aloud, aware that the wrong word to the wrong person can be fatal in this particular Mexico.

Ernesto Alterio brings a controlled, weighing quality to a show full of louder men — cartel bosses, agents, politicians — and that restraint becomes its own kind of tension. He plays someone doing arithmetic in every scene, and the show is generous enough to let us watch him work it out rather than telling us the answer.
