Sad Mitten

Sad Mitten is exactly what the name promises: a lone, forlorn mitten who turns up in Big Mouth's crowded universe of talking objects and anthropomorphized feelings. Introduced as a quick, mournful aside rather than a major player, it mopes through its brief moment with the gloomy sincerity of something that knows it's been left out in the cold.

Nick Kroll, who voices half the show's population, gives even a throwaway mitten a fully committed wallow of self-pity, and that commitment is the joke. Big Mouth thrives on treating absurd objects with the emotional weight of real trauma, and Sad Mitten is a tiny, perfect example of the show refusing to waste a bit.
