Ryūnosuke Tanaka

Tanaka is a second-year wing spiker at Karasuno, loud and shaven-headed, the kind of teammate who screams encouragement before he's even hit the ball. He wants Karasuno to be feared again, throws himself into every rally with theatrical intensity, and falls instantly, dramatically in love with pretty much any girl who's kind to him.

He's comic relief who never becomes disposable — Hayashi's voice work swings from booming bravado to squeaky panic in a single line, and the show keeps using that volatility for real momentum, letting his hype-man energy actually shift the tone of a match. Underneath the jokes is a guy who genuinely believes his team can win, and means it every time he shouts it.
