Rutherford B. Hayes' Head

One of the disembodied ex-president heads bobbing in jars at the Head Museum, Rutherford B. Hayes' Head shows up whenever Futurama needs a punchline from America's forgotten Oval Office also-rans. He has opinions, a jar, and roughly the historical relevance he had in life—which is to say, not much, delivered with total conviction.

The joke is the format: a 31st-century world so casually preserved that even its most obscure ex-presidents get a talking head and an attitude. John DiMaggio, already doing heavy lifting as Bender, tosses off Hayes with the same gruff throwaway energy, which is exactly right—nobody involved is pretending this is a big deal, and that's what makes it funny.
