Runner

Runner is a minor face in Futurama's crowded universe of one-off gags and background bodies, the kind of character the show conjures for a single scene and never explains further. Whatever their function, they exist mostly to keep the joke moving and vanish just as quickly.

Tress MacNeille's gift on this show is making even a nothing part sound like a fully lived-in weirdo, and that's the pleasure here: a blink of a role given texture through voice alone. Futurama's world is built from exactly these disposable, oddly specific throwaways.
