Ruescott Melshi

Melshi is one of the soldiers Vel Sartha recruits for the Aldhani operation, a clipped, professional presence among a crew of strangers thrown together for a single job. He doesn't ask questions about the larger cause, doesn't posture, and doesn't waste words — he does the work in front of him and expects everyone else to do the same.

He's a small role built entirely out of competence, and Duncan Pow plays him with the flat, watchful calm of someone who has done dangerous things before and knows panic gets people killed. There's no speech, no arc announced in advance — just a soldier's economy that makes the heist feel real because at least one person in the room is taking it entirely seriously.
