Character
Roy Anderson
Roy Anderson in The Office (2005), played by David Denman.
Roy works in the Dunder Mifflin warehouse and is engaged to receptionist Pam Beesly, a fact the whole office treats as settled business. He's blunt, easily bored by office culture, more interested in beer and sports than romance, and shows little curiosity about Pam's inner life or her art.
Denman plays him without cartoon villainy, just ordinary inattentiveness, which makes him more unsettling than a mustache-twirling rival ever could be. He's believable as someone Pam chose and believable as someone she might outgrow, and the show trusts the audience to feel that gap before anyone says it aloud.
Roy is a Warehouse worker under Darryl at Dunder Mifflin Scranton and the fiancé of Pam Beesly. Though it is implied that Roy and Pam's relationship is mismatched. While Pam is soft-spoken, sensitive, and interested in the arts, Roy is a stereotypical blue-collar worker---loud, aggressive, and blind to Pam's increasing unhappiness in their relationship.
