Robotic Male Scientist

A background robot in a lab coat, one of the anonymous scientific minds who pop up whenever Futurama needs a specialist to deliver bad news, absurd data, or a diagnosis nobody wants to hear. He speaks with the flat, credentialed confidence of someone who has seen far stranger things than whatever is happening now.

Maurice LaMarche, already doing heavy lifting elsewhere in the cast, gives this stock role a rich, authoritative baritone that makes throwaway scientific nonsense sound like gospel. The joke is the mismatch between his gravitas and the absurdity of what he's actually explaining — and LaMarche never winks at it, which is exactly why it lands.
