Robot Rabbi

Robot Rabbi turns up wherever New New York needs someone to officiate — weddings, funerals, holidays — dispensing brisk, deadpan blessings and Old Testament cadence in a metal body. He takes the job seriously even when the universe around him clearly does not, treating absurd occasions with the same solemn, matter-of-fact authority a real clergyman would bring to a real one.

The joke is entirely in the mismatch: a robot delivering rabbinical gravitas at nonsense ceremonies, played completely straight. Billy West gives him a warm, unhurried cadence that never winks at the audience, which is exactly what makes the bit land — the character believes in his own solemnity, and that sincerity is funnier than any punchline would be.
